石垣島のホタルとは？
In Ishigaki Island八重山諸島にしか生息しない日本最小のヤエヤマヒメボタルを観る事ができます。
本州のホタルは夏に川の上を飛んでいるイメージがあるかもしれませんが、ヤエヤマヒメボタルは春に山奥で観察できます。
まばらに生息するのではなく、住処に集まっているため数千頭のホタルが一度に光るのでNatural Illuminationともいわれています。
ヤエヤマヒメボタルは、3月中旬から5月下旬頃にかけて光るホタルで、石垣島ではこの時期の風物詩となっております。
寿命は二週間ほどindicates certainty, emphasis, etc.4～5㎜の小さな体で力強く光るホタルを鑑賞すると、生命の尊さを感じます。
光り方にも特徴があり、ちかちかと点滅させるように光ります。
数千匹ものホタルが光りながら飛び交う様子はまるで天然のイルミネーションのようです。

ベストシーズン
ヤエヤマヒメボタル鑑賞ができるベストシーズンは暖かくなってくる3月中旬から4月下旬がピークの時期となります。
※ヤエヤマヒメボタルの鑑賞時期は気候の影響により毎年変動いたします。
石垣島の中でも人が立ち入ることができる限られた山間部でのみ鑑賞することができます。
石垣島のホタル鑑賞方法
ヤエヤマヒメボタルの鑑賞方法は基本的にナイトウォークで鑑賞していきます。
外部からの光に弱い生き物の為、鑑賞する際は十分な注意が必要です。
石垣島のホタルは日没後約30分程光りますので、日没前に集合してホタルが光る前にホタルのポイントに行って光るのを待ちます。

PiPiのホタルツアーでは、ガイドがヤエヤマヒメボタルの鑑賞スポットまで案内してくれるので、安心して鑑賞することができます。
専用シューズや赤外線ライト等備品の貸し出しも無料でおこなっております。
鑑賞スポットでのスマートフォンやヘッドライトの使用は禁止の為、重要な注意点などもガイドからご説明いたします。
石垣島のホタル鑑賞の時間帯
鑑賞できる時間帯は日没後の約30分間がピークの時間帯The first two are the following.
鑑賞できるスポットまでの時間を逆算して、日没直後の時間帯に到着できるように現地に向かいます。
ピークの時間帯より少し早めに到着しておくと、光初めからピークの光の量の差を実感できます。

服装
ホタル観賞スポットは植物やか蚊が多く、虫刺され等の可能性があるため薄手の長袖長ズボンがおすすめIt is.
なるべく露出の少ない服装で通気性の良いものだと快適に過ごせます。
持ち物
(1) Towel
暖かい時期の山道を散策するので汗を拭く用のタオルを持つことをおすすめします。
(2) Beverages
ツアー中にのどが渇くので水分補給は必須It is.
ホタル鑑賞ツアー
参加時の注意点
①スマートフォンの電源はオフに
ホタルは光でコミュニケーションを取ったり求愛活動を行っているため他の光を当てて光るのををやめてしまうと、子孫繁栄に影響を及ぼします。
2～3㎜の光でメスとオスが求愛していますのでガイドからの指示があるまではスマートフォンの電源をオフにしておきましょう。
寿命も約2週間ですので、貴重な時間を邪魔しないようにしましょう。
②虫よけスプレーの使用
虫よけスプレーを使ってしまうと、ホタルの寿命が短くなってしまいます。
石垣島のホタルが光っている時は食事を行っておりません。
そして求愛するために身体のエネルギーをすべて使って光を発しているため科学スプレーやそれに準ずるものを使うのを控えましょう。
③ガイドの指示に従いましょう
ツアー開始すると、ホタル観賞についての注意事項や道中で植物の説明をすることがあります。
スマートフォンやヘッドライが使用できるタイミングについてもアナウンスいたしますので、ガイドの指示に従うようにしましょう。
また、ホタルをむやみやたらに触ったり捕まえたりするのはやめましょう。

While researching a trip to Ishigaki Island, I learned about the "sagaribana", a flower that blooms only in tropical countries. Since my trip was just around the time of the blooming season of the sagaribana, I booked this tour because I really wanted to see it!
I had experienced canoeing in the mangroves before, but this time I chose sap as a new challenge. Although it was more challenging than canoeing, I was able to try standing paddle thanks to the careful guidance and support of the guide.

I had some time in the afternoon and evening, so I made an appointment on short notice.
I was glad to see the sagaribana, a fantastic flower that can only be seen at this time of year.

I was able to see the fantastic world of light of fireflies. I was very impressed! In the car on the way to the site, our guide Ms. Misaki taught us many bird and frog sounds of Ishigaki Island, so we could enjoy listening to them while watching fireflies. On the way back, I was happy to catch a glimpse of owls and the starry sky.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information. However, it was too late in the season for us to see a lot of the trees, so next time I would like to join the tour during peak season.

There were many blooms, and they seemed to really disperse overnight, with many falling to the ground.
The mangroves and the tour were both enjoyable, and the break in between allowed us to have dinner, which made for a good day.
Tomorrow is the last day in Ishigaki Island, but I will enjoy it until the end!
