Career History I grew up surrounded by the lush nature of Hiroshima and have loved playing outdoors ever since I was a child. I fell in love with the beautiful ocean and unspoiled nature of Ishigaki Island, so I decided to move there. I currently work as a marine tour guide on Ishigaki Island. Through my tours, I share the island’s charm with visitors, and every day I work with my team to keep our shop lively and fun.

— Aoi Asaeda's Story —

“

I wanted to read while gazing out at the beautiful ocean. I was looking for a place where I could work by the ocean and spend my days off there as well. That’s why I came to Ishigaki Island.

What I want to convey through these tours is the wonder and importance of nature. The plants and animals you encounter on the night tours—whether they’re poisonous or have unusual shapes—always have a reason for it. Once you understand that reason, you’ll see them in a whole new light.

We can provide assistance in English and Chinese, so please feel free to ask if you're visiting from overseas.

— An Interview with Aoi Asaeda —

Q.What's a memorable story about a customer?

What really stood out was when a child who had seemed a little down at first told us at the end of the tour, “This was the best memory of my summer vacation.”

Q.How do you spend your days off?

I read books and take naps by the beach.

Q.What are the "must-see" highlights of your top-recommended tour?

These are the plants and animals you'll see on the night tour. Take a closer look—why are they poisonous? Why do they look the way they do? There's always a reason. That's what makes it so fascinating.

Q.Who is this product recommended for?

We welcome all guests. We can provide assistance in English and Chinese, so please feel free to contact us if you are visiting from overseas.

Visitors from Overseas (Original text in English / Translated by the editorial staff) / Snorkeling at the Blue Cave

My family and I visited Ishigaki Island, and we decided that snorkeling at the Blue Cave was an absolute must. That decision was absolutely the right one! Thanks especially to our guide, Aoi, it turned out to be an amazing experience. She was friendly, fun, and full of energy—and she speaks several languages fluently. First, we walked through a paradise-like setting to reach the Blue Cave. The snorkeling that followed was truly unforgettable—crystal-clear water, a wide variety of coral, and vibrantly colored fish. Aoi even took some amazing photos of us underwater. There were small children in our group, but she took great care of them and made sure everyone stayed safe.

Ms. Fang Yi (Original text in English / Translated by the editorial department) / Snorkeling at the Blue Grotto

I highly recommend it! Even though I’m not a strong swimmer, I really enjoyed snorkeling. It wasn’t scary at all. Seeing the beautiful coral reefs and the varying depths of the seabed was an unforgettable experience. Aoi’s skills were outstanding, and she was very knowledgeable. She also explained the unique features of Ishigaki Island and told us about foods we can only enjoy here.

Our guide, Aoi, was very kind and spoke both English and Chinese very well. She gave us detailed explanations and took lots of wonderful photos for us. I’m truly grateful to her. The Blue Grotto was also incredibly beautiful; the water was crystal clear, and we were able to see beautiful coral and lots of fish.
