Kabira Bay was awarded three stars by the Michelin Green Guide in 2008 for its beauty. More information about Kabira Park

Kabira Park is a national park that is one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan and is both a historic site and a natural monument. In addition to being listed as one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan, Kabira Park has also been awarded three stars by the Michelin Green Guide.
Because it is one of the top popular tourist attractions on Ishigaki Island, teahouses, stores, and eateries flourish at the entrance. There are also many lodging facilities within walking distance.

In 2019, a new parking lot was built, so the parking problem has been solved and you can now relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. While the area around the park is beautifully maintained, it is also lushly green and relaxing anyway.
Kabira Bay is a beautiful sea that is said to change into seven different colors and is home to coral and tropical fish in the sea. Because of the quality of the water, it is also used for black pearl cultivation. Because the tides are very fast, people often experience activities by glass boat or kayak. Glass boats have a glass bottom from which one can observe the underwater world, and can be enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly. This is a great experience even for small children.

Kabira Park has many historical and valuable cultural assets. A torii gate is located just inside the entrance. After passing through this torii gate, you will find the Kabira Kannondō Hall, said to have been built in the middle of the 17th century. It is said that the Kannon Hall was built by a man who prayed for the return of a ship that had once sailed away while waiting for the wind to blow in the bay, and miraculously, the ship returned.
Kannon-do is located on a small hill with a beautiful walking trail and hibiscus flowers in bloom all year round, making it an ideal place to take a walk and admire the surroundings.

There are tea and dining places in Kabira Park, but they are all very crowded during the summer tourist season. In such cases, we recommend heading to the Yamahara area, also known as Uraishigaki, located about 5 minutes by car from Kabira Park. It is accessible enough on foot from Kabira Park, and there are many restaurants in this area. There are also guest houses that offer meals, so it is possible to stay overnight and enjoy Kabira. Here are some of the restaurants in the Kabira Park area.
Gourmet near Kabira Park
Hey, Ceasar.

The first restaurant we would like to introduce is Oi Shisa Kai. Oi Shisa Kure is a restaurant behind the Kabira Residential Office where you can enjoy delicious Okinawan soba noodles. It is easily recognizable by the huge Okinawan seersucker in front of the restaurant. The homemade noodles served here come in four varieties: regular noodles, mugwort noodles, island pepper noodles, and chili noodles. The noodles are made from natural ingredients without using any additives, so you can eat them with peace of mind. The noodles are very popular among the locals, and many people visit the restaurant every day.

How to play in Kabira Park

Kabira Park has an observatory, restaurants, and rest areas where visitors can eat, walk, and leisurely stroll around the park. Kabira Park is full of attractions, but the most attractive feature is the beautiful ocean. The view from the observatory is great, but you can also enjoy a glass boat ride or a boat tour.sea kayakand ... andSUPYou can also observe the underwater world from a glass boat with an engine. Glass boats with engines offer underwater views of coral, tropical fish, and other beautiful sights from the transparent bottom of the boat.

It is also recommended for people who do not want to get wet but want to observe the ocean, small children, the elderly, and people with injuries. It is also recommended during the summer months when the sun is strong, as it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

Sea kayaking is recommended for those who want to experience a more physically active activity. Sea kayaking offers more freedom than glass boats because you can observe the ocean while paddling by yourself, and since sea kayaks can accommodate two people, couples, children, and those who are not good swimmers may enjoy sea kayaking more. Sea kayaking is also more flexible in this respect, as glass boats are not allowed in shallow water.
