JTST Training Course<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

For the third time, I participated in a training session organized by the Japan Tourguide Safety Training (JTST) Organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

Training sessions are held on a regular basis and are attended mainly by newly hired staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Kawamitsu, a former firefighter, was our lecturer this time.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Day 1 is a classroom lecture<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Staff learned about the environment in which accidents occur and the risks of the ocean during tours and in private.<\/span><\/p>\n

Group discussions were held to discuss what characteristics make people dangerous and prone to accidents? We delved deeper into the question of what kind of people are dangerous and prone to accidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although it is something I am usually careful about, the group discussion allowed us to share our respective ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also believe that we were able to raise awareness by having everyone work on their own initiative!<\/span><\/p>\n

The second day includes a classroom test, first aid and AED training.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is a test to make sure that each of the participants are able to drop in during the classroom lecture on the first day, which is very important in improving safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The passing standard is also set high to ensure that you actually understand what you have learned.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In first aid, everyone performed airway and chest compressions.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the staff members seemed to have reaffirmed the importance of repeated practice not only during the training sessions but also on a regular basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also gave us a detailed training on how to use AED, one by one, so that we can actually respond to the situation in the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

The third day was a practical training at Tadahama Beach.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We were taught first aid, first aid call, first aid transport, and the best way to respond at sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the mock tour, participants learned how to respond appropriately when a person is sick, assuming a realistic situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The members who go on tour almost every day participated, and I think the practical training was a really good experience for them because they were able to do all the things they could actually do in the field!<\/span><\/p>\n

Kawamitsu Lecturer<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

He has 25 years of experience working for the Ishigaki City Fire Department.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has been on numerous occasions as an EMT,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since his retirement, he has been active as an instructor of safety courses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAfter retirement from firefighting, we offer courses in water accident prevention, including CPR, as a safety course.
\nSnorkeling is incorporated as a form of tourism.
\nWe take great care to guide our guests safely and securely.
\nPreventable preparations and responses are being made as improvements are made.
\nHowever, it is also true that unexpected accidents cannot be expected to be adequately handled.
\nTherefore, we decided to build on our training as snorkeling guides to improve and maintain the quality of our services.
\nWe see the current situation as insufficient with regard to maintaining quality among many Marin establishments.
\nWe hope that by sharing this information, even though it is presumptuous, we can help improve the quality of safe and secure tourism.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
